The event was attended by all project team executives and workers of UCC\u2013Promar JV, together with representatives of United Development Co. (UDC), Faithful Gould, and DAR Qatar.<\/p>\n<p>The project logged a total of 1 million safe man hours as of October 2020.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe safety of our team is our top priority and this milestone shows our dedication and commitment to Health and Safety\u201d, says UCC Holding Chairman, Mr. Moutaz Al-Khayyat. \u201cUCC Holding applies very strict rules and procedures to all its projects, carrying out the best practices to achieve Zero Harm to Health, Safety, &amp; Environment,\u201d Mr. Moutaz adds.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, UCC Holding received the title overall \u201cCountry Winner\u201d at the International Safety Awards 2020 by the British Safety Council. The British Safety Council award is one of the most prestigious awards given to construction companies that have demonstrated commitment to occupational health, safety, environmental and well-being.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the occasion, UCC Holding\u2019s Managing Director, Mr. Ramez Al-Khayyat said, \u201cWe are very pleased to safely progress towards this project, and we appreciate everyone\u2019s commitment to embrace excellent standards of Health and Safety.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gewan Island is UDC\u2019s latest real-estate project that spans 400,000 sqm.
